The car park is open from 9am to 6pm and tickets are between £7.50 and £10 per vehicle, depending on the season.

DIRECTIONS: From Baslow on A619, south of Sheffield, take B6012 towards Beeley and drive all the way through Chatsworth Park. Meeting point is on the right immediately before the packhorse bridge exiting the Park.

WALK DETAILS: This 7½-8 mile walk naturally splits into two sections providing the opportunity to retire at the halfway point if desired. There are two gradual climbs but the views over Chatsworth Estate make them both worthwhile.

III  🆕 Meet the Locate Link

If you’re a bit of a worrier about loved ones getting lost, the Locate Link is for you. By simply saving this link, you’ll be prepared if you can’t find their location or they can’t easily say where they are.

With the summer holidays upon us, it’s a helpful way for parents to get their kids’ location quickly and precisely. It’s also a good tool for those who care for vulnerable people, or for use with anyone you know who struggles with technology.

Here’s how it works
Copy the link below and send it to the person you’d like to locate. When they open the link, they’ll be taken to a web page which will display the 3 words for their location. This page has been designed to have a low data requirement, so it should load even in areas with poor data connection. They can then send you these words or give you them over the phone.

The July edition of PLUS

Please read this important information

Is now available and, as you know, it is normally accessible to read via the YOBS website, which you need to be registered to use. However, some of you will know that there are difficulties logging on to the site currently because of the web host's programming issues. The host is working on these but in the meantime the site administrator, fellow pensioner John Jefferis, is looking for a new web host. John has asked me to pass on his apologies to you all for the inconvenience these problems are causing and, for my part, I'd like to take this opportunity of giving him my warmest thanks for the huge amount of time and effort he's putting in towards resolving these website issues.

In the meantime, I'm pleased to tell you that the July edition is stored in the Cloud and can be accessed by clicking on the link 2507 PLUS July 2025, 6 pages and entering password PlusMag2507 exactly as shown. To enlarge the initial image which opens in Cloud you should click the three menu dots at top left of the screen and then select 'Download' (menu may appear differently on tablet/iPad or phone). You can then adjust the size of the image to suit.

If you have any difficulties accessing PLUS or have any other queries of a technical nature concerning the YOBS site, please contact John on access@yobs.org.uk
