If you’re a bit of a worrier about loved ones getting lost, the Locate Link is for you. By simply saving this link, you’ll be prepared if you can’t find their location or they can’t easily say where they are.
With the summer holidays upon us, it’s a helpful way for parents to get their kids’ location quickly and precisely. It’s also a good tool for those who care for vulnerable people, or for use with anyone you know who struggles with technology.
Here’s how it works
Copy the link below and send it to the person you’d like to locate. When they open the link, they’ll be taken to a web page which will display the 3 words for their location. This page has been designed to have a low data requirement, so it should load even in areas with poor data connection. They can then send you these words or give you them over the phone.

Hello Everyone
OBITUARY
I am sorry to let you know of the death of Geoff Holland on 3 April, aged 76.
Geoff retired from Securities Department in 1996, prior to which he worked in Trustee Department and at Morley, York Road and Meanwood branches.
The funeral is on Friday, 16 May at 11.15 am at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium, Heckmondwike Road, Dewsbury WF13 3PL.
This will be followed by refreshments at The Manor Golf Club, Bradford Road, Drighlington BD11 1AB. Geoff has made the request that "...mourners should not wear black but should dress as if coming to visit me at home."
It would be helpful to Geoff's wife, Tilly (also formerly YB), if you could let her know if you wish to attend the reception. If you would please email me at andrea.plusmag@btinternet.com with your acceptance I will forward your message to Tilly and she will then correspond with you direct.
Could I please ask you to pass on this information to fellow pensioners with whom you are in regular contact, particularly those who are not online.
The March edition of PLUS
Is now ready to view via the YOBS private website.PLUS can only be accessed via the website and you need to be registered to use it. If you haven't registered and would like to do so now, just send an email to the site administrator, John Jefferis, on access@yobs.org.uk with a note of where you retired from and the year. A £2 subscription will be required which John will let you know how to pay. Dependants are also welcome to register using the same email address - when you write please will you include the full name of your spouse/partner and the last branch/department they worked for.
If you've already registered with YOBS you can go straight to www.yobs.org.uk (there's a link at the end of this message) and enter the user name and password which John gave you when you joined the site. Then select the PLUS MAGAZINE tab/menu option which takes you through to links to the current and past editions. It's possible to download the magazine from the website, save it to your own device and print it out if you wish. Contact John if you need help with this.
